Estare wines - the youngsters

The youngsters are wines with a clear, fruity palette and dynamic character. These include a wide variety of Rieslings demonstrating the entire range of this respected grape - from dry to medium dry and even fruity sweet. The Pinot Noir estate red wine is velvety, full-bodied and has a wonderful fragrance of red fruits. The estate wines are harvested with a maximum yield of 70 hl/ha, are cool fermented and sold in Bordeaux bottles.

To preserve their fresh character, the estate uses the respected Stelvin screw top. Estate wines are a welcome accompaniment to any meal and provide a refreshing drink for any occasion.


Single vineyard wines – the characters

The character wines shows the unique terroir of each vineyard. They show the endless variety which can be produced from the flexible Riesling when different vineyards are used. These lively and elegant wines reflect the character of the Rheingau valley terrain. They take the customer on a journey of discovery through worlds of wine-tasting pleasure. The grapes used for these vintage wines are harvested with a yield of only 60 hl/ha. They are concentrated and rich in extracts. Produced with minimum technology to preserve the typical character of the area, they are sold in traditional flute-shaped bottles and sealed with natural corks.


First growths & ***premium wines – the personalities

These wines form the absolute peak of the dry wines produced at Schloss Schönborn. Stringent regulations specify that first growths may only be harvested from the very best sites in the region. The result is intense, long-lasting wines from fully ripe, hand-picked and selected grapes. This reflects the unique nature of the Rhine; valley terrain and produces individualistic wines with distinctly recognisable fragrances and flavours. 

The ***premium wines reveal the ambitious and established profile of personalities who are accustomed to the bright lights of international platforms. The Riesling and Pinot Noir are first class wines which we are proud to award three stars.


Sparkling

Through traditional bottle fermentation, house wines are transformed into delicately sparkling wines, which profit from the high quality of Schloss Schönborn wines. Available as extra dry or brut, they are sold in representative sparkling wine bottles, sealed with natural corks.
